INVENTORY MANAGER

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the corporate inventory and procurement to meet customer service level, fill rate, market demand, and profit targets

• Maintain inventory records and counts that are complete, accurate, up to date and compliant with industry standards

• Analyze large volumes inventory and supply chain data to gain insights for optimizing inventory, service and cost

• Continually optimize and fine tune the models, tools, formulae and replenishment parameters for inventory management

• Use automation to improve efficiency and accuracy of inventory management and procurement

• Manage cycle counts

• Identify and report shortages, overages, and all inventory levels for timely replenishment and reductions/returns to vendors

• Collaborate with operations managers to optimize local inventories and purchasing

• Collaborate with distribution manager to optimize warehouse processes, transportation, lead-time and on-time delivery

• Work with product managers to plan and execute on stock orders, special buys, returns, new product and marketing programs

• Work with sales team to plan and deliver customer inventory services; support vendor managed inventory programs

• Manage contract and consignment inventories

• Collaborate with vendors to optimize the use of inventories in the shared supply channel

• Minimize inactive/unwanted inventory and return to vendors regularly throughout the year

• Keep current records of all vendor and customer agreements

• Track, report and evaluate all costs associated with inventory and purchasing; benchmark these against industry

• Collaborate with finance to control and report on inventory assets, contracts, returns, aging, write offs, consignments, etc.

• Develop and produce standardized and actionable reports on inventory and its performance

• Make effective use of process management and continuous improvements of the processes, people and tools

• Make effective use of project management

• Travel from time to time


REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES

• University degree in math, science or a similar program

• Strong mathematical, statistical and analytic capabilities

• High level of expertise in analyzing and processing large volumes of data and generating insights for making improvements

• Strong problem solving skills

• Extremely handy with Excel and Access applications

• Three years with strong record of inventory management experience working with computer inventory management applications and managing large numbers of SKUs and vendors

• Three years with strong record of people management experience

• Process management experience

• Strong verbal and written communications skill

• High energy level

• Highly collaborative; very effective interpersonal relationship management skills; empathy

• Assertive and firm
